Description

This class runs Saturday and Sunday from 9-5

Basic Woodworking for women is exactly the same class as Basic Woodworking for Beginners, but is for those who feel more comfortable learning alongside other women. This is a course for people who have always wanted to build something out of wood, but never had the opportunity. It is for complete beginners.

The focus of the course  will be learning to properly use hand tools. We will be building a simple toolbox as a vehicle for mastering these skills.

There is room for a maximum of 3 students, so there will be lots of personal coaching and guidance.  Tony has been a professional woodworker for over 50 years and loves to pass along his knowledge in a safe, welcoming environment.

All tools, supplies, safety gear and coffee break will be provided. Please pack a lunch.

The classes will be held at the Lunenburg Furniture Compay, 15 Burma rd., in the heart of Lunenburg’s historic working waterfront.

Here’s what Anam had to say about her experience taking this class:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”I took a 1.5 day women only woodworking class at the Lunenburg Furniture co. in August, and it was absolutely amazing! Tony was a fantastic instructor- sincere, patient, and effortless in his teaching style. He constantly took feedback from the group and adjusted the class to suit our goals and comfort levels. The space felt safe, relaxed, and supportive, making it a wonderful environment for us ladies to explore woodworking. Based on our feedback, Tony focused on teaching us the basics of hand tools- giving us the confidence to take on simple woodworking projects on our own- and also demonstrated how to safely use power tools. We wrapped up the session by building a basic toolbox, which was such a rewarding, hand-on project. The only suggestion for improvement was around time management, as we felt a little rushed to finish the project the second day and class went over a little, however it was extremely minor in comparison to what we took away from that weekend. Overall, I’d highly recommend this class to anyone curious about woodworking- especially women looking to try something new in a supportive environment.”
