Description

A good week begins with sharp and finely tuned tools.

In this on day class we will learn how to achieve razor sharp cutting edges for hand planes, chisels and card scrapers.

We will explore:

• water stones, diamond stones and abrasive films on plate glass
• hand grinding, hand honing, and jig sharpening
• setting up of hand planes for maximum performance whether rough planing pine, or finish planing difficult hardwoods
• demonstration of hand lapping to make plane soles and chisel backs truly flat

Maximum 3 students.

Classes are held at The Lunenburg Furniture Co. 15 Burma Rd., Lunenburg.

Class runs from 9-5. Please bring your planes, chisels and card scrapers to sharpen. If you don’t own your own tools please contact me before signing up to ensure I have enough spare tools.
